Harvest Monday, October 19, 2009

I have a tiny harvest to post for Harvest Mondays at Daphne’s Dandelions.

I harvested and dried the last of the parsley and found some little onions when clearing out one of the SFGs to plant my garlic:

Visit Daphne’s Dandelions to see what others have harvested this week.

  1. Dang, you take some pretty harvest photos! Congratulations on the harvest, even if it was small.

  2. i love the discovery of MIA onions. i was just prepping a bed for winter and discovered all these little carrots hiding from the harvest. yea... bonus carrots and onions!

  3. Thanks for sharing! I am looking forward to growing and drying many herbs next year.

And it always nice to find some hidden treasure in your garden! Those onions will be tasty!

  4. Those are particularly pretty onions. When I find hidden treasures in the garden, they're more likely to be pencil ends and plastic dinosaurs.

  5. I like you presentations on the onions. Love those bowls.

  6. Buried treasure! I love finding things like that in the garden.

  7. It's fun to encounter lost onions, carrots, and potatoes in the garden beds. A bonus harvest you were not counting on!

  8. Nice harvest ! I really enjoyed growing parsley. Herbs are pretty maintenace-free and do well in general. Both my varieties did great and really took off as it got cooler. So fresh and tasty.

    ps. Lovely dishware !

  9. EG: Thanks! I am trying to improve my photography. Yes the harvest was small and the last of the year.

Allison: I thought I harvested all the onions in that section. It was a surprise to find some still there. Carrots too must have been a nice surprise.

Thomas: I am going to add more herbs next year. They are easy to grow and taste much better even when dried. I thing because they are so fresh.

Stefaneener: The onions were pretty small. None of them grew very large, but they will be great tossed in a stew.

    Flowergardengirl: Thanks!

Daphne: Yes, it was a nice surprise.

    KitsapFG: Yes it was fun!

Miss m: Parsley really did well for me this year. I have way more dried then I will use through the winter. I plan on growing a more variety of herbs next year.
