A Bit of Winter

We woke up to a bit of winter this morning. It is supposed to turn to rain later so I took some pictures before it melted away.

  1. Pretty! We aren't supposed to get snow here, but my hill occasionally gets it when the surrounding towns don't. So maybe. It won't last luckily. I still have more work in the garden.

  4. I hope you got all those leaves picked up before they got all soggy! I'm having just the opposite weather here, it's so hot I think it cooked my newly planted lettuce seeds. Who knew we were supposed to have record breaking temperatures.

  5. I think it's nice to awake to a landscape covered in snow, as it's very pretty. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that I want some here!

  6. great photos! i had no clue it was going to snow until it did. my poor plants were completely taken off guard. the Farmer's Almanac has predicted early (and lots) of snow for Nov and Dec. Yea!!!!

  7. Daphne: I thought the snow was so pretty too, probably because I knew it wouldn’t last. It is pretty much gone now. This weekend the temperatures will be in the 50s so there is still time for me to do more work in the gardens.

Miss M: I agree…snow is lovely! Too bad it comes hand in hand with freezing temperatures.

Stefaneener: It wasn’t enough to really play in. We usually don’t get snow like that that until December.

Granny: No, I didn’t get the leaves picked up before the snow/rain. This weekend is supposed to be dry and warmer, so hopefully they’ll dry out a bit. Sorry about your lettuce. I can’t believe you are experiencing record high temperatures now when only a few days ago it was chilly and windy.

EG: I can enjoy the beauty of snow too when I know it won’t be around long.

  8. Allison: Thanks for the complement on the photos! I am not very good at taking pictures but I am trying to improve. The local news was talking about snow being a possibility, but I didn’t believe them until I saw it this morning. It still WAS quite surprising. I really hope the Farmer’s Almanac is off on their predictions.

  9. How quietly lovely those scenes are. It is not something we see down here in the sub-tropics. I enjoyed your first snow.

    Thank you ~ FlowerLady
