Snow Path to the Compost Bin

Daphne showed us her snow path to the compost bin, so I though would show you mine:

Snow Path to the Compost Bin

Oh, and see the snow on the shed roof? I climbed up there today and shoveled it off this afternoon. I pushed the snow to the edge and K pulled it off with a roof rake. It was three feet deep. Just when we finished it began to snow again. We are expecting another 6-inches tonight. It has been quite a winter.

  1. I had to shovel a path to our compost bin also, since I fell trying to get to ours the first time. Too much snow!!

  2. I really feel for all of you up there. We have about half that amount of snow left here now. We were supposed to get snow last night and today, but we got rain instead. Tomorrow and Monday temps up to high 30's & low 40"s!

  4. I'm so glad this storm mostly passed us by. We needed a break in the snow. And Friday's storm is now being predicted to go out to sea. Whoot! Now it is just the Monday night storm to deal with but it looks small here. Usually I like snow, but I'm getting a bit tired of it.

  5. Meemnyc: We had to snowblow a path to the compost bin or there was no way I could reach it. Of course the bin is covered with snow as well, so I am just piling up stuff on top.

Robin: Temperatures have been so cold that not much has melted in between snowstorms. It is supposed to be above freezing with some sunshine the next few days, so hopefully some of this snow will melt.

Laura (kitsapFG): I know! It’s crazy. The people who ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile are loving this snow though. It has been a while since they have had enough snow for winter activities. Unfortunately, I don’t enjoy any of them.

Daphne: The snow came down in big flakes at first, but nightfall it turned to rain. We only ended up with several inches of slushy snow. Difficult to clean up, but better than the 6-inches they were predicting.

  6. Dang, that picture of the snow is impressive! I'd probably lose Jude in that much snow...

  7. EG: Bradie ventures out chest deep once in a while, but mostly races around the snowblowed paths.
