  1. This weather is just crazy!! They are now saying that we may get 5" or more of snow from that same system! I hope that they are lying!!

  2. We got about 2" of snow last nite, and there's a chance for a little more over the next two days. I love snow, but I really wanna garden right now...

  3. I was noticing that timing too. We were going to get rain until the wee hours of the morning on April 1st. Then it was going to turn to snow. Last night they said we would get about 5" of snow, but today they say 1-2" of rain. I'm happy with the rain. I really don't need snow.

  4. Sounds like you are have a bit of an extended winter this year, I don't envy you. Hopfully it will come and go and spring will begin to shine in your neck of the woods.:)

  5. We have fairly warm weather this week, expected to get into the low 70s today, but the wind is relentless. It blew the toilet tissue seed tape full of turnip seeds right out of the garden yesterday! That's the first one I've lost in three years of using them.

  6. This would not be the first April Fools Day that I've seen up to 12 inches of snow in the last 40 years. Not all that unusual. Last year spoiled us.

  7. Yikes! Hoop covers saved me both times we got Spring snows here in the last two years. Both were bad for Seattle and both were in April!

  8. Robin: I am really not pleased. Especially since the snow is almost melted from the completely from the garden. I hope they are lying as well, but I doubt it.

Jeph: Snow at this point is disheartening. I really want to garden right now as well. Too bad Mother Nature has different plans.

Daphne: It is raining right now as I type this. I would be happy with an all rain event as well. However, I don’t think that is in the cards for us.

Mr H: I wonder if we will ever experience spring at this point. Luckily, spring winter snow does not last long. Soon we will be seeing dirt again.

Granny: I saw the weather widget on your blog stating 70-something today. Lucky you! However, the winds you experienced are unlucky.

  9. Doglady: Last spring’s exceptionally warm weather was indeed a welcomed gift. This year is certainly a reality check.

Sinfonian: Luckily, I haven’t planted anything outside yet. But I want to clean out the beds soon and get ready for planting. Last weekend the soil in the raised beds was still frozen. I am still hopeful that will be able to transplant some spring seedlings into the SFGs under protection in the next few weeks.

  10. That must be really frustrating! Maybe it is an April Fools day joke (a bad one!)?

You really are getting more than your fair share of winter storms this year, here's hoping your summer more than makes up for it.
