And what a lovely spot to sit and watch your garden grow at the same time!
It is very peaceful. Not only the chickens and the garden, but other nature is keeping the yard active as well. Right now, there are a lot of birds that have recently left the nest . The parents are working hard keeping them fed as they learn to fly.
I know just what you mean. Our flock of hens are a constant source of entertainment as well as food production, and compost making. Love those girls.
They are amazing to watch. I can't wait until they begin producing eggs.
What a wonderfully evocative photo. I was about to go sit outside in my garden and enjoy the evening (although no chickens here) when the thunder and lightning started. I'll be glad when this weather pattern shifts to something a little more conducive to sitting out and to gardening. -Jean
Yes, that was quite a storm. I didn't sit out last night but luckily the chickens went into the coop early and I closed the door. They seem to instinctively know when a thunderstorm is coming and seek shelter.
We love watching our chickens too. Glad you are enjoying yours and I hope they start laying for you before too long!
