Frost Advisory for Tonight

Photo from WGME.com

A very busy evening after watching the news and discovering that a frost advisory has been issued for my area tonight. I was so not ready for this.

I went out with baskets and containers to harvest all the peppers, partially ripe tomatoes, and basil. I do hope we escape frost because about half my seasonal harvest of tomatoes still remain on the vines. Wish me luck!

  1. Good luck! They are predicting high 30s around here, but of course here in the city it just won't happen. Too much pavement will keep things warmer probably.

    1. No frost last night, but there will be another chance tonight.

  2. Fingers crossed for you. It's way too early, you need another month! We have a predicted low of 43 this week, and that's too cold for me :-(

    1. Thanks, Granny! Yes, I really need another month (which is normal first frost time). There is a chance of frost again tonight. Ugh!!!!

  3. We are not so cold yet, but with the rains that have just begun, decided to do some garden cleanup: picked all the tomatoes and pulled nearly all the tomato plants_ the earliest we have ever done this, but there were no more blossoms and not much fruit remaining. Strange year all around.

  4. Wow, I haven't gotten a frost warning yet in southern ontario. I have been keeping an eye though because we have had some cool days. I'm hoping to get another 2 weeks. Hopefully you escaped frost-free and are given some more time with your veg!
